- Worked extensively on brand valuations for a wide range of applications such as balance sheet recognition, tax planning, marketing strategy setting and M&A
- Speaks regularly at branding conferences and workshops internationally
- Published articles on tax planning and accounting standards as they relate to brands
Previous experience:
- Commercial Manager for Cable & Wireless providing commercial advice to bid teams in contract negotiations. While working at C&W Michael was the commercial advisor for a successful 0m bid and contract negotiation with Shell's telecoms unit, the largest deal of its kind for the company Corporate Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen, advising predominantly on international taxation issues for media, oil and gas clients. Also seconded to AA's offices in Kazakhstan to support the growing tax consulting department there, servicing local and international finance and oil and gas industry clients |

Bryan Partington Valuation Director Brand Finance plc

Qualifications & Memberships:
- Masters degree in Law from Bristol University
- Chartered Accountant in England and Wales (with Price Waterhouse)
Experience at Brand Finance:
- Managed brand valuation and value-based marketing projects in UK and Holland working across a range of sectors including oil & gas, utilities, consumer electronics, financial services, clothing, food & beverages, property development and travel
- Worked on numerous technical valuation projects for the purposes of compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS 3 – Business Combinations) and also for transfer pricing reasons, including a multi-billion dollar legal dispute between the Internal Revenue Service and a global brand owner
Previous experience:
- Finance Director of Wolff Olins, at the time the world’s leading independent branding company with offices in London, New York, Madrid and Lisbon. Organised the due diligence process during the MBO in 1997
- Finance Director at two specialised design companies: 20/20 (Retail) and The Nest (Multi-disciplinary). Arranged the sale of The Nest to the advertising agency, St Luke’s Communications
- Financial Controller for PepsiCo Northern Europe, with offices in London, Dublin, Paris, Stockholm and Norway International Auditor for PepsiCo Group, based out of Purchase NY. Assignments included financial and operational reviews of PepsiCo international bottling operations (company-owned and franchised), concentrate plants, marketing offices, snack food operations, restaurants and Wilson Sporting Goods. Locations audited were Canada, Puerto Rico, Eire, England, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Hong Kong, China, Philippines and Australia |
